Posted 6 months agoSo, about a month ago we got a cat. Her name is Roxxie, and she's the sweetest, most cuddly cat I've ever met, and she's so tolerant and just honestly the best.
Already, things have been going downhill.
We took her to the vet on Thursday, we were told something is terribly wrong. Roxxie is jaundiced, she's fatigued, and she's teetering on the point of needing to be fully hospitalized to treat whatever it is she has.
The current diagnosis is chronic pancreatitis, and she's anemic.
We've been giving her antibiotics and vitamins since, but after contacting my vet with a picture of Roxxie's skin, she said it's more jaundiced than it was on Thursday, and she'd like us to bring her in again. The quote for this visit is gonna be upwards of $300 dollars.
We knew going into adopting a cat that it'd be expensive, but we didn't account for grave health issues so soon. We can't afford this without being short on bills and other essentials.
I know FA is filled with journals of people asking for monetary help for their pets, and I didn't want to join them, but I have to

Roxxie is one of the best things that's ever happened to me and has genuinely kept me afloat in one of the darkest times of my life; being that my grandmother is in hospice and watching the woman who raised me die this slowly and agonizingly, from **across the country**. It's traumatizing.

We hit our goal already, but with our vet specifically telling us not to rule out cancer, we're keeping the gofundme open and raising the goal to $500 - everything we get will be going to Roxxie and any appointments or treatments or medication she might need.

Posted 8 months agoSo something happened; and if you use the site you already know what it was. Thankfully everybody's personal info is safe, but I don't know how much I'm gonna be posting on FA anymore with the threat of bots skimming the site to use people's art for AI training. I don't know the likelihood of this happening, but the fact that it's even a possibility is frightening.
That being said, please follow me on Twitter and Bluesky!! I'm gonna be posting everything I make there from now on, and while my FA won't be going dark, I might not post *everything* here anymore.

Because of this, I've posted some of my best stuff over on Bluesky and Twitter, and am gonna start trying to use those more frequently!! That also means it'll be where I'll be should anything happen to this site.
